Today I’m going to tell you about a little gem that I found on Amazon. Now, to be completely honest I had no intention of writing a review when I bought these pens. I bought them because I needed some more brush pens and these were cheap, so I figured I'd try them out. And boy was I surprised.
Once I tried them I was so blown away by the performance that I had to share it. So today I’m going to share with you my personal opinion of these markers.
Name
The name of these pens is a bit of a mystery, especially since most of the writing on it is in Japanese. But in English the name "Baoke" is printed on the pen. So for the rest of this post we’re going to refer to them as Boake Brush Pens.

Price
These pens range in price on Amazon. Depending on the seller you can find them from $5.98-9.99. (You may be able to get them even cheaper on AliExpress or other retailers online)
What’s Included
In Amazon listing that I used to buy my pens you get a set of 6 brush pens. You get 3 brush pens, 1 medium, 1 fine, and 1 extra fine brush pen.
Ink
The ink is water based, non-toxic and highly pigmented black ink.
Ink Flow
I have not noticed any inconsistencies in the flow of the ink. As I've used these pens I've noticed that the ink flow is steady and even.
Other features
This pen is refillable. Yes, you read that right! This feature alone makes this pen a good buy. This means that you get more than your money's worth with being able to use this pen over and over. This was a major selling point for me. (Well this and the price lol)

Design
The pen is beautiful. It’s covered in a black, GLITTERY plastic with gold writing on both the barrel and the cap. And as you can see from the picture above the pen top is designed to unscrew the cap off the barrel to allow you to refill the ink. Which is a pretty cool feature if you ask me.
Size of the Nib
As I mentioned before, the listing I found on Amazon had 6 pens in it. 3 brush pens and 1 medium brush, 1 fine and and extra fine brush pen. The pens also seem to have numbers that correspond to their size. In the set I received there was S20 which is the largest brush pen, the S21 is the medium, S22 is the fine and S23 is the extra fine.
As far as the S20 brush pen it is about standard size. The nib is slightly smaller than the Tombow Dual Tip Brush Pen. (As shown in the image on the left) And the Baoke nib is slightly bigger than the Ecoline Brush Pen. (As shown in the picture on the right.)

One other thing to notice is that the S20 has more of a teardrop shape (bulge that tapers out to a tip) whereas the Tombow has a more triangular shaped nib. And the Ecoline has a more severe teardrop (the bulge tapers sharply into a tip) This is just an observation.
The other nibs (medium, fine and extra fine) give you a nice variety of different sized nibs.

As you can see from the picture above the S21 or the medium brush pen is a nice in-between size. Not too big or too small. As far as a comparison for this size...its almost comparable to a crayola supertip. The S22 is comparable to the Tombow Fudenosuke brush pens. Take a look at the photos below at the comparison between the S22 with the Fudenosuke Hard (Right pic) and the Fudenosuke Soft (Left)

The nib of S22 looks more similar to the Tombow Fudenosuke Hard. They look to be the same height and thickness. The S22 looks slightly shorter when compared to the Tombow Fudenosuke Soft.
The nib for the S23 is extremely small. Which is great for getting some thin upstrokes. Which is a good pen to have for your collection.
Material of Nib
I can’t confirm the material because on the listing it doesn’t have it. But after using it and comparing it to others I’ve used before it feels like a felt tip. After doing some research I've discovered that the nib is made of absorbent fiber cotton
Performance
The contrast that you can get from all three pens is great for the price.

All in all these pens are a great buy. Whether you're a beginner wanting to try your hand at different sized nibs to see which one you like best or if you're a seasoned letterer wanting to add to your collection I can't recommend these pens more.
