10 Ways to Be More Creative

1. Get curious
Forget the age old adage that “curiosity killed the cat” if you want to boost your creativity one of the first things you should do is increase your curiosity. A curious mind is someone who has a passion for learning and has an open mind to new ideas.

2. Try something new
Explore that that new hobby that you have been considering, take a new way to work or try a new recipe. Open yourself to the possibilities and you’ll find that creative boost that you’ve been craving.

3. Do what you love
Creativity and love are connected. When you do something you love your mind becomes at ease and it becomes open to new ideas.

4. Go for a walk
You ever notice how much your mind wanders when you go for a walk. The thoughts and ideas that go flow into your mind are great. There has been research done by Standford that proves that walking can improve creative thinking. So get out there and walk.

5. Go for a drive
If the idea of going for a walk doesn’t appeal to you, then go for a car-ride. I have had so many new ideas come to me while I’m driving or riding in a car that I’ve lost count. Try it.

6. Socialize
Sometimes hearing what someone else thinks can open your mind up to ideas that you didn’t even consider. You never know what thoughts your friends might spark.

7. Laugh
Firstly you should make this a habit aside from being more creative because of its many benefits. Laughter can to help lower stress and anxiety, while increasing antibodies that fight infection. Laughter also the release of the feel good hormone endorphins. When you’re feeling this good do you really think you wont feel more creative?

8. Get Crafty
Try to create something with your hands. When you make something by hand you’re using a lot of different senses which can stimulate creative thoughts.

9. Get some sleep
Sometimes shutting down can jump-start your brain with new ideas. So if you need some creative inspiration try hitting the sack.

10. Write ideas down
Start a brain dump where you write down every idea that pops in your head. You never know what idea might spark your creativity.
