Strokes are essentially straight or curved lines. Simple. Basic strokes are the lines that are used to create brush lettering. What is brush lettering you ask? Brush Lettering is lettering that is identified by the use of thick and thin strokes. It is with the use of these strokes that gives this type of lettering a similar appearance to calligraphy, which is why brush lettering is often referred to as modern calligraphy. Now on to the strokes.
