Lettering Tip Tuesday: Chisel Tips

With brush tips being all the rage right now it’s easy to sometimes forget about chisel tips and what they are capable of. Chisel tips can be used for all different types of things. For today’s purposes we’re going to talk about how you can use it to create block letters, just like the ones shown below.

To start take the chisel end of your marker and turn it so that the wide part of the marker is angled to write. Then drag downward. You should have a rather thick line. Any stroke that you have to draw downward should be thick and any other stroke should be thin. See the video below for an example.

Now time to draw the letters. The only thing you have to worry about is the direction you’re dragging in. Have fun and enjoy!
